Cllr Rudd says More HGVs on Rural Roads is a Good Thing

Cllr David Rudd (Wolds Weighton Ward, Conservative) asked this “question” regarding traffic for a proposed major oil drilling application, to some bemusement.

The West Newton A oil drilling application could result in 200,000 HGV movements on quiet, rural roads, that are totally unsuitable for the large volume of traffic.

The comments were made at a pre-planning committee meeting on 27th Sep 2021, hearing arguments for and against the Planning Application for West Newton A wellsite expansion.
